(viewpoints of the downtown skyline) from all angles! Take a look and get some ideas for your next adventure!

Crescent Heights Lookout Point

You can access Crescent Hill Calgary from Centre Street and 7 Avenue NW. This is by far the best view in Calgary!

There is a walking path along Crescent Road that is approximately 2km round trip, offering unobstructed views of the city skyline, including the Calgary Tower. The pathway is often busy with people joggers, dog walkers.

Alternatively, you can park at 200 286 Memorial Drive NW and walk up the stairs to Crescent Heights Viewpoint. The stairs are quite long and you often busy with runners and photographers.

You can also park here and walk over to the Peace Bridge. This is approximately a 2km round trip walk. The benefit of Crescent Heights is you can also drive along the road for the view, without leaving the comfort of your vehicle.

Another part of Crescent Road with an off-leash dog area and a great view of the city of Calgary. This is a more secluded spot on Crescent Heights with less foot traffic.

Scotsman’s Hill

Scotsman’s Hill offers a fantastic view of the city of Calgary and the iconic Saddledome, home of the Calgary Flames. The actual view is located along Salisbury Street SE, which can be accessed from 17 Avenue SE and 8 Street SE. This area is quite busy as it is also an off-leash dog park.

You can also see the Stampede Grounds from here and catch the fireworks Stampede fireworks shows! (During Stampede, part of the view is closed)

There are stairs you can take to get down to the Elbow River. Like with Crescent Heights, you can get the view from your vehicle, driving along Salisbury Street SE.

Skyline Calgary View

Skyline View is just down the road on the corner of Ramsay Street and 6 Street SE. You can park along Ramsay Street SE and cross the road to the Skyline View observation deck. This gives a great view of the Saddledome and the Calgary Stampede grounds!

Mt. Pleasant View Point

Mt. Pleasant viewpoint is located in Rotary Park, this viewpoint includes an off-leash dog park.

Unlike Crescent Heights and Scotsman’s Hill, you need to leave your vehicle to get to this great spot for your view of downtown Calgary. This is the perfect place to watch Canada Day fireworks and take great city skyline photos.

Things to Keep in Mind

When visiting Calgary’s best views, please keep in mind that these are in residential areas. Please be respectful of the area and use trash cans and the provided portable toilets that have recently been added by the city. There is a high presence of officers enforcing the city by-laws regarding noise volume and the 10pm curfew. There are also parking restrictions on some of the roads so please be aware of where you are parking and when.

Add in Some Fun

One fun way to enjoy these beautiful views is to book a stretch limousine or a party bus and be driven to your viewpoints. This helps you avoid parking hassles and directions too!

Adding limousine service for any special event, with a stop along the way to enjoy these views, will make your day even more special! You can get out and take photos, enjoy drinks along the way, and be dropped off at your destination!
