Their library contains 100,000 books, periodicals, newspapers, maps, and pamphlets with relevance to Western Canada. This museum is home to items that represent Indigenous cultures and traditions from across Canada. Informative and fun, Glenbow Museum is great for increasing knowledge and appreciation of history for all ages.

 

Heritage Park

Heritage Park is Canada’s largest living history museum. It offers historical facts mixed with adventure, discovery, and fun while learning what makes Western Canadian settlement so unique. This Historical Village will take you back in time over 100 years with six period-appropriate shops and staff dressed in outfits from the 1800s throughout the park.

 

Rafting Down the Bow River

Rafting down the fast-moving Bow River in Calgary is an awesome way to enjoy a hot day. If you own your own raft and life jacket, this adventure is 100% free! Free Things to do in Calgary

Check out the Peace Bridge that connects the southern Bow River pathway and downtown Calgary with the northern Bow River pathway and the community of Sunnyside. Located in the Core Shopping Centre downtown Calgary, Devonian Gardens is easy to find with close access to food and shopping of all kinds!

Prince’s Island Park is another great spot to see in Calgary in any season. In the winter there is skating and cross country skiing. In the summer there are playgrounds, splash parks, and flower gardens. Whether you walk, bike ride, or want to sit and enjoy the sites, Prince’s Island Park is a beautiful place to visit.

The new Central Library is an amazing piece of public art inside and out. From the outdoor archway that resembles a chinook arch, to the bookscalator inside, this 240,000 square foot building has five levels, giving you lots of room to explore.

One of Calgary’s best and busiest tourist attractions is Crescent Heights Hill. From here you get great views of the city of Calgary’s downtown skyline and the Bow River. There are walking paths and stairs that are popular fitness spots, offering unobstructed views of the beautiful city of Calgary.
