There are plenty of restaurants to choose from at the 8 Ave SW for breakfast. The street is more commonly known as Stephen Avenue which is one of the National Historic Districts in the Calgary. Buildings from the 19th century are still well preserved that makes it a photo worthy background for tourists.

If you’d like to go on a shopping spree, along Stephen Avenue, are the Banker’s Hall, Calgary Eaton Centre and Scotia Centre. These malls will offer you wide variety of boutiques from local to branded names. Check out the Devonian Gardens, a large indoor park at CORE Shopping Center for some photo-ops.

Continue to walk towards the Macleod Trail and there you will see, just behind the Olympic Plaza, is Calgary’s Sandstone City Hall.

The Olympic Plaza is know to cater to Calgary’s big events and gatherings so make sure to check your tour dates if you will be able to have a glimpse on the city events.

Head to the Glenbow Museum for some vast collection of artistry and artifacts. It is located at 130 9 Ave SE, a block away from Olympic Plaza. Admission fee is CAD 16.00 per adult. The exhibit is open except for Mondays and varies on different time schedule. You can go to www.glenbow.org to learn more.

Fancy having lunch at a tower? Try out Sky 360 restaurant for full view of the city. By dining, you won’t need to spend for the elevation fee of CAD 18.00 going to the Tower Observation. Budget for dining ranges from CAD 20 – 35.00 per person.

You can check out a few more destinations along 13 Ave SW such as Central Memorial Park; Calgary’s oldest Park and Lougheed House; a National and Provincial Historic Site where you can do a house tour and explore its vast garden for only CAD 8.50. It’s open from Wednesdays to Sundays between 10:00AM to 4:00PM.

Public transportation are available within the downtown area such as the Calgary Transit which offers free fare for everyone or you can get a taxi which has a base fee of CAD 3.40 plus additional CAD 1.50/km. Bike and car rentals are available but finding a parking spot could be a challenge. +15s is always an option if you’d like to walk around the commercial area; These are pedestrian walkways that is 15ft above the street level.
